I just bought mine yesterday at Target, on clearance for 25.97, and was excited to try it after reading all the great reviews here on Amazon. I got it home, washed the container, primed the filter by running it under water for a minute, and put it together. (Super easy) Once it was put in place on my counter, I used a very large pitcher to fill up the resevoir. Here are some of my first impressions.
First, the filtering process was quicker than I expected. I didn’t time it exactly, but I would say the bottom resevoir was filled within 30 minutes. It’s nice that once the bottom fills up, you can refill the top to keep it fully ready. Once it was ready, my girlfriend and I grabbed a glass, eager to try it and compare it to the water in my apartment.
I know the water at my place isn’t great, but I drink it all the time so I’m very used to it. I wasn’t sure how much of a difference I would taste immediately. But let me tell you, the difference about blew my socks off! The PUR water tasted great! Very clean and fresh, with no odor at all. I drank some and thought it tasted great. But, I didn’t exactly feel blown away or anything…
Until…
Right after enjoying my first few guzzles of the PUR water, I tried my regular water for a comparison. Oh my God… When I tasted my regular tap water (the same I had drank for years) I almost wanted to vomit. It was so awful and tasted so nasty I almost gagged. Then, I tasted the PUR again, and it was like heaven on Earth. Amazing difference!
I had my girlfriend do the same. She had the PUR water first, then tasted my tap water and instantly made a disgusted face. We couldn’t believe how much better and perfect this new filtered water tasted. I will NEVER drink my tap water again. NEVER. Then I did a taste comparison against a bottle of water I had in the fridge. I don’t recall what brand it was, just whatever I got at the corner convenience store… One of the main brands. Anyway, a total difference. The PUR water is simply the best water I’ve tasted. Hands down. And it’s not until you try it that you have a base of comparison.
The filters are designed to last an average of two months (for average useage, which I think is about right and fair) and the cost of the filters considering how long it will last is SO much more cost effective than buying water. So, I’m totally sold. I love the size, the look, the ease of use, the amount of water it holds, and how much more water I’m drinking already, just after one day.
Please, please, please, give this one a try and you’ll love it. My girlfriend has a Brita pitcher, and it tastes great too. But, we both agree that this one just tastes overall more pure. Once again, hard to explain until you have something to compare it to. I highly recommend it. You won’t be sorry.

I’ve used water filter systems before, most recently my previous house had one of the small under cabinet systems with the tiny little spigot coming up out of the sink, its own faucet. I was disillusioned by how long it took to get water though, so rarely used it.
I drink iced tea, the cold brew stuff, just fill my gallon pitcher up with water, put in the bags, and let it sit in the fridge for a while. But the water in our town isn’t the greatest, and has a noticeable odor when held right up under the nose, as when you drink. So I wanted to find something that could fill up my pitcher and make a difference in the flavor.
And this does. Tremendously.
Just trying the water side by side with the stuff right from the faucet, it’s night and day. And my iced tea has no unpleasant weird tastes or odors anymore.
I was a bit reluctant after seeing some reviews about how long it takes to actually move from top (unfiltered) to bottom (filtered) but with my new filter, it takes no time at all. Within 6 or 7 minutes the water has filtered. This will get slower as the filter becomes more clogged with things it has cleared previously, but as I use this for iced tea only, it’s not really going to make a difference for me since it will complete before i finish the pitcher regardless.
Simple to use, and the spout has been perfect, no leaks, not even the occasional drop after shutting it off.
Bottom holds more than the top, so I fill it, let it sit by the sink, and when it’s gone down some, fill it some more so that when it’s in the fridge, it’s totally going to be full on the bottom, more than it could’ve been filled in one shot.
Easy to move, the top does a good job of protecting any “sloshing” when you move it around when it is full on top.
I got mine at a brick and mortar, so paid for this, and a three pack of extra filters, barely paid more than the unit cost elsewhere. Even got a gift card too, so really came out ahead. But even if I paid full price, would’ve been very happy, considering it a deal.

We are an Agricultural Manufacturing company that produces a biodegradable cornstarch soil additive that helps reduce the need for watering so in an effort to keep the “green” mission we use these water filter pitchers to reduce the plastic bottles in the landfill. I feel really good about using this filter pitcher, but I wish there was a better recycling program for the filters. We do our best to dismantle the filters and recycle everything we can, but like with toner it would be great if we could return these to PUR for recycling.

The added capacity of the item really makes it useful. I was never a fan of the pitcher — it takes to much time to fill it, and then to use it. This item when filled will dispense water at sink-like speeds. It also has a three liter pre-filter capacity (the blue unfiltered container). This means you can pour 3L from the sink into it, and put it in the fridge. It will probably take 20 minutes to filter it all. The pitcher by comparison probably has 1L fill capacity, so you have to do it three times as much. The added seconds you save not having to take the pitcher out of the fridge and pour your own water really makes this awesome too. It isn’t really about being lazy: it is about drinking a lot of water and not wanting to go to a pitcher 10 times, and have to fill it twice in the same day.
With this item I was finally able to ditch bottled water.õþUÿ
